Interns must be 16 years old by June 10th, 2024. River City High School students must have completed at least one course in one of WUSD’s Career Technical Education Pathways. View qualifying courses here. Yolo High School and Washington Middle College students must have a recommendation form filled out by a teacher or counselor. All participants must have also viewed an online informational session about the internships offered by the Home Run team. Special Project

Project Title: Volunteer Appreciation Campaign Objective: To recognize and appreciate the invaluable contributions of our volunteers while strengthening their engagement with the YMCA of Superior California.

Project Description: The Volunteer Coordinator & Social Media Marketing Specialist will develop and execute a comprehensive Volunteer Appreciation Campaign. The campaign aims to express gratitude to our
volunteers, foster a sense of belonging within the YMCA community, and inspire continued involvement.

Additional Information

*Please note that this position is outside of West Sacramento. Interns will need to find their own transportation to and from the worksite and weekly trainings.

The employee will primarily be situated in the sports office at the Sacramento Central YMCA, where they will spend most of their time working on a computer. They will collaborate closely with one or two other employees present in the office, engaging in tasks related to volunteer coordination and social media marketing. In addition to office work, the employee will interact regularly with parents, youth participants, and volunteer coaches involved in our youth sports programs. This may involve answering inquiries, providing support and guidance, and facilitating communication between various stakeholders. Overall, the employee's environment will be indoors within the YMCA facility, with a focus on administrative tasks, communication, and engagement with program participants and volunteers.
