Mandatory Qualifications
Interns must be 16 years old by June 10th, 2024. River City High School students must have completed at least one course in one of WUSD’s Career Technical Education Pathways. View qualifying courses here. Yolo High School and Washington Middle College students must have a recommendation form filled out by a teacher or counselor. All participants must have also viewed an online informational session about the internships offered by the Home Run team. Responsibilities
Supporting the residential property management office in the following ways:
1. Scanning, organizing files, printing, uploading, stuffing envelopes as needed when bill paying
2. Computer use for data entry, verifying tenant accounts, creating/verifying work orders
3. Greeting customers (owners/tenants/vendors)
4. Receiving and verifying rent payments
5. Basic marketing projects via Google, Canva, and VistaPrint
6. Completing office checklists for general office procedures (open/close "to do" items and supplies)
7. Other projects on an as needed basis

Hart Management Company is a local property management company that specializes in managing residential properties for property owners and assisting prospective tenants with their housing search and application process to provide them with a housing option they qualify for.

Special Project
1st Project: Renting out a residential property from start to finish
- Walking the property to create the turn around list to prepare it for rent - Coordinating with vendors to complete the turn around list
- Updating the property page on the management software to reflect the physical progress taking place
- Creating the marketing for the property to list it
- Showing the property (the intern will be accompanied by the staff)
-Assisting the manager in the lease process
- Completing a move in inspection and preparing the keys to hand over to new tenants - Confirming the tenant is moved into the property and into the system
2nd Project: Creating a Tenant Handbook with guidelines and processes to help the tenant have a smooth tenancy with our management company. This will involve utilizing basic lease and property responsibility for a tenant and useful information during their tenancy. Our staff will guide the intern through this by starting with a Table of Contents. Use of the internet, Adobe, Word and basic marketing skills will be required.
