Mandatory Qualifications
Interns must be 16 years old by June 10th, 2024. River City High School students must have completed at least one course in one of WUSD’s Career Technical Education Pathways. View qualifying courses here. Yolo High School and Washington Middle College students must have a recommendation form filled out by a teacher or counselor. All participants must have also viewed an online informational session about the internships offered by the Home Run team. Responsibilities
Customer service will be the main responsibility, helping customers and answering their questions. Intern will also gain experience stocking and sorting out merchandise. If the intern is interested, they can also help with the store's social media.
About the Business
We are a comic and Games store focused on community building. We sell comics,
manga, boardgames, card games, and RPGs. We focus on giving the community a
place to exchange ideas and opinions in a safe and fun environment.
Preferred Abilities
Hard working, caring, outgoing, patient, integrity, and someone open to learning.
Learning outcomes
Being able to actively listen to customers and respond accordingly.
Social media literacy and engagement to promote themselves and a business.
Community building.
Excel and Microsoft office skills, knowing how to handle money and a POS effectively.
Special Project
We would love the intern to complete a community outreach project that brings people
into the store. Whether that is a game night or event that the intern plans and
promotes with the help of our graphic designer and social media manager.
