Mandatory Qualifications

Interns must be 16 years old by June 10th, 2024. River City High School students must have completed at least one course in one of WUSD’s Career Technical Education Pathways. View qualifying courses here. Yolo High School and Washington Middle College students must have a recommendation form filled out by a teacher or counselor. All participants must have also viewed an online informational session about the internships offered by the Home Run team. Responsibilities

Psomas is a full service civil engineering firm that works on public and private development infrastructure projects. The Roseville office has various teams focusing on various disciplines that are typical of infrastructure project. The Civil Engineering/Construction Management/Surveying intern will learn how transportation roadway/highway, site development projects are designed by working with our Engineering team, assist our Survey team with field survey tasks and learn how projects are built by Contractors by working with our Construction Management team. Students who enjoy Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Abilities

Interested in working in the science, technology, engineering and/or math field. Able to pick up quickly on new concepts and the ability to take initiative on tasks.

Special Project

Interns will get exposure to what it takes to complete the design of roadways, bike trails, roadway widening projects, site development projects, assisting with the field survey of existing project sites and assisting construction managers to aid Contractors with the building of public infrastructure projects.

Additional Information

Office is located in Roseville, CA so must be able to drive to the office. Steel toe shoes may be required when working on construction sites.

*Please note that this position is outside of West Sacramento. Interns will need to find their own transportation to and from the worksite and weekly trainings.
