Mandatory Qualifications

Interns must be 16 years old by June 10th, 2025. River City High School students must have completed at least one course in one of WUSD’s Career Technical Education Pathways. View qualifying courses here. Yolo High School and Washington Middle College students must have a recommendation form filled out by a teacher or counselor. All participants must have also participated in or watched a recording of an online informational session about the internships offered by the Home Run team.

Responsibilities

This intern will focus on the processes in our manufacturing facility such as understanding welding, sand blasting, concrete pouring and mixing and more. The intern will learn the processes of our manufacturing plant and how different trades interact with each other and the timeline and process of our projects and products.


Tasks:

  • Plant storage studies

  • Plant asset demand/capacity studies

  • Meeting minutes/notes

  • Action item spreadsheet upkeep

  • In-Plant measurements, material inventory and timing studies

Additional Information

The work environment is an office at the manufacturing plant in an office at a desk but can be subject to loud noises and dust. This position involves working around machinery.

Please note this position is in Woodland. The intern will be responsible for their own travel outside West Sacramento.
