Mandatory Qualifications

Interns must be 16 years old by June 10th, 2024. River City High School students must have completed at least one course in one of WUSD’s Career Technical Education Pathways. View qualifying courses here. Yolo High School and Washington Middle College students must have a recommendation form filled out by a teacher or counselor. All participants must have also viewed an online informational session about the internships offered by the Home Run team. Responsibilities

General Function: Provide direct supervision for a group of children in a seasonal day camp. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring 


Principal Activities: Supervises a group of children. Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA core values. Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards. Attends staff meetings and trainings. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies. Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. All other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Special Project

The intern will have the opportunity to plan an implement activities for the children.

This is a fun job for someone that likes to be busy and on the go. Everyday is different and its very rewarding work.

*Please note that this position is outside of West Sacramento. Interns will need to find their own transportation to and from the worksite and weekly trainings.
